Teamwork Makes The Dream Work

Jump Suit Group turns one today and, since then, just about everything has changed except the logo on the jersey.

The last 12 months have flown by – It feels like yesterday we were meeting with lawyers, building our website, all while trying to figure out which way was up.

Caution: If you’re not flexible, you might hurt yourself.

What would happen to all the excitement and potential of the unknown if everything went the way you planned? Sounds pretty boring to me….

I have surrendered to the idea that we can’t predict the future, no matter how hard we try. Instead, we push each other to do everything in that moment to prepare us for the impending uppercut, wherever it’s coming from next.

One thing hasn’t changed.

That’s our ability to work through problems both large and small. When the three of us bang our heads together, crazy things happen.

All three of us grew up playing sports and have witnessed the true importance of teamwork first hand – Chemistry being the main ingredient in the recipe for success.

Of course the comradery helps.

But what’s more important? We all trust each other to make the best decisions for the team. I can sleep easy knowing these guys are behind the wheel. Talk about being on the same page.... We were called out by a stranger for finishing each others sentences at a conference once.

No idea is too crazy (except our really crazy ones).

Having open minds got the three of us in this situation in the first place.

Why stop now?

We’re not going to get anywhere by accepting the status quo. Pushing the envelope is a lot easier when you’re doing it with a team.

There is no “I” in team and that couldn’t be truer at JSG. Although we aren’t passing each other the ball on the field and scoring goals, we are still on the same team working our hardest to win the game.

“If someone offers you a seat on a rocket ship, you don’t ask which seat. You just get on.”
